Godaido is a small temple hall located on an islet near the pier and is the oldest remaining Momoyama-style structure in the Tohoku region. Reconstructed in 1604 by Date Masamune, it houses statues of the Five Great Wisdom Kings that are displayed to the public once every 33 years, with the next display scheduled for 2039.
