It is located on a mountain and is quite remote. While Koyasan strictly forbade women, Muroji Temple is widely known as "Nyonin Koya," or "Mt. Koya for Women". Stone steps connect the buildings of the mountainside temple, leading through a dense forest. Many of the temple buildings date back hundreds of years, and the old wooden buildings create a harmonious atmosphere with the surrounding nature. Wheelchair is only accessible around its entrance, the Treasure Hall and Nio-mon gate(the Deva gate). It may be difficult to get to this temple at all for most visitors without private travel. Please see below information.
