What is the maximum number of participants for tours?
For walking tours, 10 is the maximum number of participants. For tours with a private vehicle, please see the individual tour pages for information. We ask that you not make several reservations for groups over our limit.
What will I do on my tour?
For customizable tours, you and your guide will discuss where you would like to visit. On 4 hour tours, you can choose 2 to 3 sights to visit. For 6 hour tours, you may choose 3 to 4 sights to visit. All itineraries are decided with the guide after booking and confirmation with the guide.
What is included in the tour fees?
For customizable walking tours, only the guide fee is included. Food, drink, public transport fees, and entrance tickets are to be covered by the tour participants. For tours with private vehicles, food, drink, public transport fees, and entrance tickets are to be covered by the tour participants
How will my guide meet me at my desired pick up point?
Your guide will meet you on foot if you have reserved a walking tour. If you have reserved a tour with a private vehicle, your guide will meet you at your desired pick up location and you will ride in the private vehicle from there.
Do you have child car seats available?
Child seats for children 1-3 is available. Please ask at the time of the reservation for a child seat. Maximum number child seats that can be reserved is 1. Child seats are NOT available for walking tours without a private vehicle.
May I choose what brand/make of vehicle I will ride in? Do you have luxury cars?
We do not take reservations for specific vehicles nor luxury vehicles. Please choose the vehicle that is the correct size for the number of passengers and luggage you will have. A licensed vehicle will be reserved for you.
What languages do your guides speak?
Our guides speak Japanese and English. We currently do not support other languages.
The date I want to reserve is not selectable on the calendar. What does this mean?
If the date you would like to reserve for a tour is not selectable on the calendar, that date is not available for reservations.
Will I be walking a lot?
Yes. Even if you reserve a private vehicle, Japanese sightseeing involves walking and travel distances that cannot be done with a vehicle.
Can you make hotel reservations or recommendations?
We are currently unable to provide this service.
Should I reserve a private vehicle?
If you are not booking a tour with a private vehicle already included, we suggest that you speak with your guide first once you make your reservation if a private vehicle will be necessary. You can book a private vehicle up until 5 days before the start of your tour.
How do I add a private vehicle to my tour?
Once you have booked a tour and discussed plans with you guide please see https://www.j-g-a.org/chartered-car.html You may book a private vehicle only if you have reserved a tour first.
